Day Five

Summer means strawberries

I couldn't resist. One of our local stores was selling crates of strawberries at a ridiculously low price and they looked soooooo good. Don't you think?

So now to find some strawberry recipes to use them up before they turn.

Any and all suggestions welcome!

And, as seems to be a theme at the moment, while I was taking some shots to share I was aware that someone couldn't wait until later in the week to try one. ;o)

Day Four

My Shadow

My original plan, after some last minute baking this evening, was to show you a lovely shot of some freshly baked cookies in the evening sunlight.

While I was scooting around on the floor, trying to find the best light, I realised I wasn't entirely alone. Heidi, our 7 year old labrador, was under the table. Watching. Closely, I might add. Just in case something were to fall within reach of her mouth.

Typical labrador, thinking with her stomach.

Day Three

Nearly

Today was a hectic day and it meant taking photos was the last thing on my list today.

I'm in the throes of trying to boost my photography business and today was a day of marketing and website updating and all sorts of fun things like that. Fun but not very good subject matter for photos.

There was also kite making and flying with my little ladies but of course, wielding a home made kite doesn't really leave any hands free for taking photos so, my apologies, it's another shot from the garden today.

I found a bud! (Actually I found five!) Looks like I'll have roses if nothing else this summer!

Day Two

Sunlight

Something a little more abstract for today.

The horrible weather means this summer has been a bit of a slow starter for my garden. My sweet peas and sunflowers are making a valiant effort but I think it'll be well into August before we see anything from them.

But, the little wild corner I have with some grasses and field flowers is coming along nicely and the sun this evening was just perfect to take some shots.

Day One

Summer Fun

Today was the first warm, sunny day we've had in a while. This summer hasn't been the best, the wettest for sure but by no means have we had the hot weather we were all expecting. So, having promised the girls they could have the paddling pool out when the sun came out...we had the pool in the garden today.

New costumes for two growing girlies too. If you look back to the posts from my first project you'll see just how much they've grown!

Could we start again, please?

Here we go again!

After never quite finishing my first attempt at a 365 project, I'm giving it a second try.

I learnt so much about myself as a photographer the last time, I can't wait to see what the next 12 months brings me as well as all the awesome photos I'm sure I'm going to end up with!

As a photographer, I've come a long way since 2013. I now have my own business, small but growing all the time, and this summer sees me working my first weddings as official photographer here in Finland. How awesome is that?!

Anyway, I'll be sharing my first photo with you all very soon and please do share your thoughts and comments along the way.

An Update

Well, for those curious among you...I am alive!

I'm back in Finland after a wonderful summer in the UK. The last few weeks of the trip flew by and spending time with friends and family took (rightful) priority over editing and uploading photos. But! Photos were taken, in the thousands, and I'm slowly beginning to work my way through them and will upload them as and when they're ready.

Warning you now...many butterfly shots coming your way. ;-)
And my first ever shots of lightning!

Stay tuned!
