Super Moon Rising

I'd brought some of these pretty paper lanterns to try out in the garden, with some very handy citronella candles to go inside to try and keep the midges and mozzies at bay, and just as I was setting up I spotted the moon rising.

I honestly didn't think we'd get chance to see it with all the cloud we've been having but there were enough breaks in the cloud to watch it's ascent and I managed to snap a couple of shots in the process before the midges, the cold and the cloud conspired to send us back inside. They're not the best but I'm glad I managed to take them all the same!

Day One Hundred and Twenty-Six

Stone wall

Today the weather was definitely drier but considerably windier!

One lovely feature of this part of the world are the old stone walls everywhere. This one is in the garden of our cottage and is covered in patches with this gorgeous, woolly moss - nature's answer to the shagpile carpet!

Rumours of sunshine tomorrow..watch this space...

Day One Hundred And Twenty-Five

Highlands

And so begins a week in the highlands of Scotland in one of my all time favourite places.
Rannoch.

We've been coming here, my family and I, for the last twenty plus years and I love that we're now staying in the same houses I did as a child with my own little ones.

The weather hasn't been the best so far but there are hope for sun next week but plenty of landscapes coming your way this week I feel.

Day One Hundred and Twenty-Four

Hands

How is my baby already so big? 7 months old today, where does the time go? I got this shot of her little hands besides her Grandad's while she napped on him.
And here she is nestled in his arms, without a care in the world!

Too many photos!

Today was a grey and rainy day and yet I have too many photos to choose from.

(Actually, this happens most days!)

But I wanted to share some of today's because I'm really pleased with them and the chosen photo - which I'll be sharing later - isn't related really to these ones I shot in the garden this morning.

Day One Hundred and Twenty-Three

Pop!

A little sun and a little heat - it's amazing the difference a day can make!

Day One Hundred and Twenty-Two

Honeysuckle

These are waiting to open but there's already a hint of their gorgeous scent in the air. Was hard to pick just one shot of them though. Love the range of pinks and purples in those little buds.
